The Little Hen and the Rooster
This week I told my kindergartner the story of the Little Hen and the Rooster.
The story is about a Hen and a Rooster who make an agreement to share with each other every fruit they find.
The Little Hen found a strawberry and shared half with the Rooster. Then the Rooster found a strawberry and, without the Little Hen noticing, he swallowed the strawberry and didn’t share it with the Little Hen. But the strawberry was too big and it got stuck in the Rooster’s throat and he fell on his back and was choking and choking and choking.
Then the story goes on telling all the things the Little Hen had to do to bring some water to the Rooster to help him get that strawberry out of his throat.
In the end the Little Hen was able to help the Rooster and from then on, the Rooster always shared with the Little Hen half of the strawberries he found.
